Our jiu-jitsu gis just came in from Pakistan today. I can't tell you how excited I am to have a great gi to offer at a great price. Pictures will be up this weekend and the gis will go live for sale on Monday. They are slim cut pearl weave gis with light weight cotton pants. They have an American flag on the right sleeve and a Brazilian flag on the left. We torture tested them on the mat before we committed to a bulk order. I am going to let the first 50 go for 75 bucks each, but after that they will be 90. They are available in sizes A1 - A6. White only for now. I know some of you have been waiting a while for these gis to come in, if you can't wait until I put them on the site, you can order one via email. Thanks and keep training, Douglas

We put a bunch of new products from Gameness on the web site today. These include gi, rash guards and fight shorts. We offer kids versions in all of these products as well. If you haven't tried Gameness products, you should consider it. The quality is great and the prices are reasonable. Also, Gameness doesn't seem to have the supply issues that other manufactures have. If you have experience with Gameness (good or bad) I encourage you to help out your peers and put your comments out there on our user forum. Keep training, Douglas

We have an ultra-lite jiu-jitsu gi in testing right now. The tests are pretty simple. We gave the gi to one of the black belts at our school and asked him to beat the crap out of it. The gi is a traditional cut 550 gram pearl weave. It is a slender gi and works best for those that don't like a lot of extra fabric in the shoulders. The prototype is plain white without any patches or embroidery. The plan was to put some logos on it. I am second guessing that now. I love the way it looks plain. It is very unassuming. The top and the pants are both ridiculously light weight. They are reinforced in all the key spots. If they can hold up to some hard training, we will leave them they way they are. It is possible we will go with a slightly heavier pant. If you have any requests, jump over to the user forum and make a comment. There is a thread titled "What would you change about your current gi." Tell us what you want and help us design this gi. Thanks, Douglas

The rumors are true.  Sort of.  The Atama Mundial #7 has been discontinued and replaced with the Mundial #9.  From what I can tell, the #9 is the same as the number 7 with the exception of the embroidery and the tag at the back of the neck..  The Atama name has been changed to white on the blue and black jiu jitsu gis and black on the white gis.

Munial #9 frontMundial #9 Back

I got a few complaints about the embroidery on the white jiu jitsu gi looking more pink than red.  I am sure Atama heard the same thing.

I like the white on black/blue as well.  The red embroidery from the #7 looked a lot better on the black though.

I heard from Atama that the wholsale prices are going up.  It was supposed to happen yesterday, but I haven't seen a new price sheet yet.  From the way it sounds, I may not carry the Mundials any more.  If I do, the days of $129, $139 and $149 Mundials are long gone.

It is a shame, I really got a kick out of making such a great gi affordable for everyone.

Keep training,

Douglas
